It’s fair to say that I missed some blindingly obvious (now) steps to enhance my ability to progress faster.  If you’re more familiar with MMOs than I, or have more time to read around, these may well be old news to you; they may even be addressed in the tutorials these days.  Still, I’ll mention some in posts as I go along to try and assist.
